Hi Sue, I might have what you need. My plastic Ocean Kayak had a couple of cracks so I brought down an inexpensive heat gun with various attachments, and some "welding rod" (made out of the same white polyethylene my kayak is.) I followed the instructions from the kayak manufacturer and I thought I got it welded well enough, but the cracks opened up again the first time I took the kayak out and it almost sank! So you're welcome to try my gun. If you make it work better than I did, could I get some pointers from you? Reply or email me with your phone # if you want to borrow it. |
