I just got an e-mail from El Rebalsito.

Rebalsito has survived the hurricane. It dropped from force #3 to a force #2 and thank God for that.It was a very scary night.Palms trees bending over, uprooting, trees breaking, branches flying. The asbests roofs flew off many houses as well.Tin laying across on the ground. And water everywhere.Store signs also have fallen with the force of the winds. It all started at 10pm and lasted till one am when it changed to a tropical storm. Half of the village is still under water, soldiers are everywhere helping people, also arrived medical staff.People are sleeping in comitee and at school.
The village ran out of water,we have no electricity,so village pump does not pump.Drinking water i still here. The road to Melaque is almost not passeble for trees, rocks and mud on a road. The river has taken livestock and is huge.
But the good is,we are all well, villagers are working hard to free us from the trees on the roads and everyone is happy for being alive.
My personal residence is ok,had lost trees, but who cares, happy to be well.
