Hey Daniel,
This tale of the orchid tree, that I remember very well from years past, has touched a deep note within. Part of the art work Felipe (my partner) and I do involves carved wood...how we'd love a few pieces of that tree, complete with its story! Is there any chance that you might be able to save a few pieces for us? We plan to be in La Manzanilla later this winter...or Ado Mendoza could take it up to his house (where my land is)...let me know what you think and we'll try to be in touch with Ado too.
