| Concerning the quality of the water for swimming, I asked a biology professor friend of ours who specializes in ocean fish. He said this, "Sewage bacteria don't survive long in seawater, and they get diluted by the tides. As for testing, the standard way to do this is to culture the bacteria on plates that turn a certain color if they are coliforms (like E. coli)." |
