Since everyone who lives in LaManz is effected by the robbery (and other robberies)if everyone chipped in on the reward, there would be a big enough incentive to expose the thief. This would apply to any subsequent robberies as well.

As far as restorative justice is concerned, it might be better to leave the priest out of it and make it strictly secular. What about the ejido? There are many ways the thief can give back to the community, ie) working for the bookstore, sweeping streets, re-cycling, picking up trash from the beach, working in the garden, etc.

Just a thought.
