So, in 2005 I bought a '998 Ford 250 on my way to Mexico. The day after leaving the dealership, the 'ck engine' light came on. Went back, mostly a snow job about how the serrvice dept had nothing to do with the sales dept. I had been using a local shop that did fleet work (a very good place to find, if you can), and he knew I was headed south...for good. His advise after playing with all of his big gadgets was, 'Put a piece of black tape over that light", as it was probably an oxy censor bad or some dumb thing like that. Now, that engine was replaced the other day here in the Jaluco area with an engine of lesser years from a boneyard in Guad...17,000 pesos complete with a 30 day guarantee... No more engine light...and, that old block is currently being sold for 9,000pesos for another truck... Buy black tape.
