The inevitable result of this escalating wave of crime: (1) Someone is going to get hurt because a physical confrontation is likely at some point;(2)Tourism will fall off because nobody wants to visit a place where they do not feel safe; and (3)The local economy will suffer as people will no longer invest and build here; and (4)The thieves will have nobody to rob because everyone will have left.
