Glass recycling

I have researched the matter and found that there is no glass recycling in Manzanillo, Puerto Vallarta, or Colima. Past attempts in those cities have apparently failed. I would love to know if anyone has contrary information. A friend from Guadalajara who visits La Manz annually (mas o menos) is kind enough to take a few boxes to a glass recycling drop off site in Guadalajara. Alas, I generate more than he can carry in his small car, try as I may at waste reduction and reuse. I understand there may be places to deposit glass in Ajijic and/or Lake Chapala. Does anyone know whether this is true? And if it is true, is anyone willing to take glass thereto for me? P.S. I buy 4 liter bottles of wine, because locals are happy to reuse the bottles. I buy a red called F. Chauvenet that is made in Mexico, which is quite drinkable for a non-conniseures like me. I mention it for wine drinkers who are also avid waste reductionists. |
