I think we will take the cuota back to Guadalajara.

The route through Autlan was interesting, and pretty (until it got dark).

IIRC, there's some pretty spectacular (if distant) views of the volcano from the cuota. Also, we've got a plane to catch at GDL, so it seems pragmatic to opt for the more-reliable route.
