Put on your dancing boots and hold on to your hats! Our 31st annual Fiesta de Toros kicks off Friday night, February 3, around 8 p.m. at the jardin with the Farola parade through town. Day 1: Gringo Day Saturday, Feb 4 Festivities start at 2 p.m.(mas o menos) at the Casino with live music, chilled refreshments, and delicious homemade birria served up by a bevy of beautiful La Manzanilla volunteers. Tickets, covering admission to the lunch and the rodeo, are 100 pesos/person. Newly designed commemorative T-shirts are 200 pesos, while supplies last. You´ll find them at various locations around town, including Manos Ayudandos book store, Mexico Property Resources Realty (Santana's), Le Club upstairs watering hole, and Palapa Joe's. Proceeds from these sales go toward the purchase of birria ingredients, beer, and the band, all of which have increased in price. This year's tix and T prices reflect that increase, but it's for a good cause. This is the ex-pat community´s day to show our appreciation to our Mexican neighbors for their continued hospitality. Day 2: Dia de Pollos y Pollas Sunday, Feb 5 Keeping alive an old La Manzanilla tradition, our young Mexican business owners sponsor this day. Festivities start around the same time as yesterday at the Casino and conclude with the Farola parade from the plaza. Day 3: Ejido Day Monday, Feb 6 Hosted by La Manzanilla Ejido members to celebrate the day they received their charter. Same schedule of events. |
