This is very helpful, German. It seems that quite a few people were unaware that they even needed to pay the Ejido Tax. No excuses now.

If the taxes are 50 cents a square meter, do I pay that in US or Canadian funds? Maybe they mean centavos. That's a better deal. Maybe they don't really want my foreign money so do I convert to pesos at the going rate?

It would be helpful if the Ejido posted a message every year, stating who has to pay the tax, how much it is, when it is due, where and when it can be paid.

Maybe it's none of our business, but maybe a general idea of where the money is spent. Then again, maybe I don't want to know.
