It's "classic" for a reason. Don't muck it up with beer, sugar or Squirt! My ratio is two parts tequila (100 percent agave, no Jose Cuervo!), one part Controy and one part fresh lime juice (pressed in a squeezer to get the essential oils from rind). If you like it sweeter, try a few drops of agave nectar. Pour over ice. Barring that, sip some good reposado!
