Hola La Manzanilla friends,

Sad to hear about the burglary that happened. It is a hard lesson to learn.

We experienced it with our friends in Thailand. The thieves came in when everyone was sleeping and stole our friends phones. Strangely two of us were sleeping in the next room with two new laptop phones and other valuables and nothing was touched.

Unfortunately, If you have no safe the best place to put large sums of money is under the mattress you are sleeping on. Hard to lift with one or two people on it. Hiding anywhere else will probably be found.

Of course if it is a robbery then best to hand over some money or valuables than risk your life or your friends or family.

I agree having a safe is the best option.

No matter I trust they go on to enjoy the rest of their vacation!
