And if the message board doesn't get you a ride, then just walk out of the terminal and get a taxi. It is 700 pesos, about $65. A bit pricey, but it will get you here. On the way up, stop in Cihuatlan at a bank and use the ATM. This is really important. There are no money exchanges or credit card use in La Manzanilla. When you use the ATM and it asks you how much you want, press "other" if you want more than 3000 pesos. Then punch in the amounth you want. I think you can go up to about 10,000 pesos and then you don't have to go back to Melaque often, to get more money. Visit Dave at the Eco tour office next to the ice cream shop to arrange a whale watching trip or evening mangrove bird tour. He will take dollars, but I think he is the only one around here. There are usually quite a few people in front of Quinta Valentino, a restaurant on the beach, playing bocci ball. I hear you can ask to learn the game, although I have never done it. If you are a cook and renting, bring at least one good knife. I haven't found good knives here in the rental units. |
