You will find it very easy to meet people here - the Mexicans and the gringos are quite welcoming and friendly. If you like music or are a musician, we host jam sessions at our house every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from November to March. All are welcome and we play all kinds of music. Watch the message board and check out the posters posted around town - at Cafe Risa, the Bookstore, the realty offices' posterboards. There are many artists here as well and the La Manzanilla Art Gallery has a showcase of artists first Friday of each month. There are numerous bridge games going on. Pretty much whatever you are interested in, you will find here! As to what to bring, ditto to the dark chocoate! "Deep Woods Off" also has Deet - some years and some locations have a mosquito problem as they carry Dengue Fever.It is best to be protected. Also another bit of advice - there has been a B&E problem here which has lessened in recent months as we now have police stationed in the town. However, remember to keep your valuables locked up and out of sight. Even though it is a slice of paradise here, taking reasonable precautions will ensure you have a happy time.
