Rental car insurance

We'll be staying in La Manzanilla for 2 weeks in March but are flying into PV. We hope to rent a car at the airport for our time there. I can reserve a car online but I'm hoping someone can help clarify what insurance/ protection we should be getting on top of the base rental price. Thrifty's website isn't very helpful as it just lists options like:Loss damage waiver, Personal Accident Insurance, Supplemental Liability Excess etc etc.

Can someone help me understand what is mandatory and what isn't?

Any help would be appreciated.
