Mosquitos and kayaks

Greetings. We will be in La Manzanilla in two weeks. Mosquitos tend to love me. Are there a lot of Mosquitos this time of year? How about no-see-ums on the beach? Any advice besides massive doses of DEET?

Also, where is a good place to rent a kayak for a few days at a time?
