Yes, the weather station is mine. I also do weather forecasting for cruising boats in Mexican waters. I will say one thing about the airport weather station, their winds are more accurate. I am about 5 blocks from the water and live in a depressed area so I don't get much wind here at the house. It really shows up during a tropical storm. It can blow 40 at the airport and I might see 20-25 here at the house. Most afternoons it will blow 12 - 15 and I see 8 - 10. All in knots. The President normally arrives via helicopter so there should be no disruption at the ariport. Another piece of trivia about the power plant turbines. CFE signed a contract with the manufacturer, GE, to maintain the turbines for the next 20 years. First time they have ever contracted out plant maintenance. Enjoy! |
