My late husband, my son and I were motor homing at this time and decided to spend a night at EL TECUAN. We have been the only guests, lots of waiters in the restaurant etc.
Early at night we heard a plane coming and all
the lights went out. Lots of commotion, then the plane took off and all the lights went on again.

Later the Federales planted palm trees on the air strip and the "hotel" went belly up.
At one point they decided to film a movie called
THE FLYING TIGERS there. They built huts, hanging bridges and.... you guessed it: a new air strip.
The hotel flourished again (without any guests) until the Federales destroyed this air strip also. After that the hotel has been abandoned and is now destroyed.

By the way: the movie has been never filmed...
