Maedb I have been fasinated with vanished history of the Brigade for some years ,and have searched the internet for as much information as I could get. Riley, who you refer to as Sean, and I know that could well be true, had his name spelled and mispelled so many times because of the difficulty of 2 cultures pronouncing names . My grandmother first mentioned the story in the 1950's to me , but by being a youngster I never gave it much thought until 10 years ago.She said he was from TullyCross just 5 miles outside of Clifden , my grandmother being from LetterGesh East, another 5 down the road , on the Connamara coast. She was a Heanue . I will contact you by e-mail, and I would like to spend some time with you researching what Ry and Paddy Maloney have re-ignited.Like recovering footsteps in the sand. |
