Buying a car

Some folks from California drove down here and are building a house and wish to sell their car. If I were to buy it is there going to be a problem getting it back across the border? Is there special paperrwork needed to show I have bought it? Or does the government only care that it is being taken back out of the country? I don't remember if ID is shown when the sticker is removed. Thanks, Paul |
