I found this fascinating David. I posted it on Facebook. The BBC has a data base and algorithm that translates paycheck power from one country/currency to another, so I said that we live in Mexico and I gave them our SS payments (nothing from investments) in pesos. The resulting figure came in 32% higher in US dollars than what we actually receive in US dollars after their adjustment for our living in Mexico. BTW, the relative difference between Chinese and Mexican workers isn't slight, it is significant. Average Chinese workers, under this protocol, make a lot more money per month than their Mexican counterparts. When one factors in the propinquity of Mexico to the US market, no wonder more and more companies are investing in Mexico. Anyway, thanks for posting. |
