Police Fund

It is disappointing to hear that, once again, some level of government is reneging on a promise to provide basic services in the community. If this keeps happening, who in their right mind will donate to those kinds of fund-raising attempts?

As much as I think La Huerta should be held to task on this, I agree that it is tempting to buy something with the 30,000 pesos. At least the funds didn't disappear into a fog like many other funds. But who would actually own this new equipment? Who would service it? Ensure that remained at this community's disposal?

Could a local association of some kind be established to oversee this stuff? The local police, if there is any, could borrow it. If there is no local police, then perhaps a "neighbourhood watch" of some sort could.

Many more questions should emerge. Much more input is needed. Let's not give up on this.

By the way, what ever happened about the ambulance?
