I didn`t say reason with anyone . When it starts up again get together with friend or neighbor and go ask if the child is ill and is there anything you can do to assist. Without doing anything else , the beating will probably stop and they will know that you know whats going on, without saying anything. If its too intense and you have to do something .... try that .
