Hi Camilla, thank you for sharing your distinct observations and viewpoint. I hiked up to Las Joyas (and further) with some family members in early January, 2012. I had expected that the dry season would have ended the water flow and dried up the pools. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the water flow continued downhill from the pools for about 300 meters whereupon it abruptly ended and obviously continued underground to join the aquaufer. The stream bed from that point all the way down to Tenacatita Bay was dry. (I was glad to read that Las Joyas is part of the Ejido La Manzanilla. They are very good people.) Jim |
