Here's a chart of the daily rainfall amounts for August & September. You can see the "Weekend Effect" clearly. If you include the August 3rd rain which was on a Friday evening, and include Monday August 13th's rain, then the last 6 weekends in a row have had at least 0.5" of rain. And no significant rain (>0.5") has fallen on weekdays except for the August 15th rain which was on a Wednesday (that one drenched the final day's street procession and dancing of the church's August festival, so it certainly was as much of a bother as a weekend rain would have been!)

Any bets on THIS weekend, considering Saturday evening is "El Grito" and Sunday are the Independence Day celebrations?

PS, thanks to Robert at the Mariscos Deli for 1st pointing out the effect a few weeks ago when it was just beginning. I got a laugh from his joke: "What do you call the day after 2 days of rain in La Manzanilla? Monday!"

I'll fill more of this in for and post it as long as the "Effect" continues...
