what do you own ?

I hinted somewhere above, and I now ask more directly:

When you buy a home in La Manzanilla, what are you actually owning? Do you own an agreement with the ejido for your continued use? If so, who adjudicates when discrepancies arise?

Little discrepancies like lot line disputes, to big discrepancies like discovering that the seller not having sufficient rights to sell.

Are all issues resolved at the ejido level? I am told the court system does not recognize presta nombre transactions. Which leads me to believe the adjudicating body would be the ejido (who is also a party to the transaction).

Do you own something other than an agreement with the ejido. If so, what is it called, and who is responsible for its enforcement?

Thanks.

(And sorry this thread has gotten so long -- I am working to entertain those in LM who are sitting still in front of a fan (probably with their computer on) )
