It is not the "integrity" of the Presta Nombre. It is the integrity or validity of the agreement between yourself and the presta nombre.

We retained a presta nombre when we "purchased" our property. We chose not to use the presta nombre that the previous "gringo" lessor had utilized.

We negotiated an agreement with our presta nombre. A Notary Public documented and witnessed the agreement. A copy of the agreement was then (I think) given to the Ejido and kept on file at the Notary Public.

Our presta nombre has no responsibility for ensuring the surety of the property.

If the seller of the property misrepresented the facts then that becomes contract law. The dispute (in theory) would be between your Presta Nombre and the seller of the property.

For something complicated as that -- the answers/resolution will not be found on a blog site. Get in contact with the Ejido and ask for their referral to the appropriate legal experts.

I remember reading about Mexican inheritance laws when I started getting serious about La Manz. Often, in spite of the "best intentions" of the vendor -- a property may be unknowingly encumbered because an ancestor died without a will and the property is then deemed to have been distributed proportionally to eligible family members.

The above situation is rectifiable --but, it can take years.
