Selling a US Registered vehicle

I am trying to figure out what to do with my 2001 Honda CRV, California plates with a 2005 sticker. It has been a wonderful vehicle for the past 7 years in Mexico, but now I would like to sell it. Unfortunately, I have been told by Mexican officials that I cannot sell it here because the VIN number shows that it was mostly manufactured in Japan. I could donate it, or drive it back to the U.S. But I have been told by others that I can sell it here in Mexico. Is that true? I would appreciate hearing from anyone with experience in this matter. |
