We drive from Vancouver as well. If you have internet access .... go to your "search" and type in Highway # Web Cam (e.g. I5 Web cam) you will get a selection to chose from. And you can see what the road conditions are ahead of you. We do this each year ... last year we were able to see a storm coming in ... therefore made a decision to drive on and we missed the snow.
