I am posting this under my own e-mail, but will be necessarily vague with respect to pronouns.
I am not an expert on NAFTA, but I sure as heck would take a look at the provisions requiring the Mexican government to recognize and protect property rights of the citizens of the countries who signed the treaty. I do not, for example, know what forum is used for NAFTA complaints, but it is unlikely that those filing for relief require law degrees. Further, if the forum for relief is outside of Mexico, the Mexican restrictions against dishonor, evaporate, meaning that everyone can say what they really think -- loudly and in the media.
Another avenue is the people involved. One does wonder what kind of investments they have outside the country and if the investments are corporate, whether shareholder meetings and other corporate events could be used for vilification...
