Emergency phone number

One of the things discussed at the mens breakfast this morning was security. Our new mayor (Pedro) was there and assured us that once the new administration is in place in La Huerta, that there will be a full time police presence here in town. He also stated that there will be an ambulance sent here for our use. I reminded him of previous promises from La Huerta that were not followed up on. Once again, he promised us an ambulance. Sounds great, but if things go south this time it is my plan to just go back to buying our own vehicle. I'm going to wait to see what happens.
In the mean time there still is an emergency number for assistance here in the pueblo. The number is: cel. (044) 315-112 4048. Noami is carrying the cell phone with her most of the time and she speaks pretty good English. Usually she is in Manzanillo on Saturdays attending paramedic training, so Vidal or Noe will be manning the phone. Noe speaks a little English but Vidal speaks none. I would suggest that you have someone who is bilingual that you can ask for help should you need it. I will keep you all updated as to what's happening with this project, but in the mean time any donations that you wish to make towards operations (oxygen, antitoxins, general supplies) will be greatly appreciated. We have refrigerator magnets with the emergency number on them for 20 pesos. They can be purchased at the book store or from Cruz or myself. This number will also work if you have a police emergency as the EMT folks are interconnected by radio with the police. Call me or stop me on the street if you have questions.
My Number: 351-5096. Thanks.
