Not to whine or bad mouth anyone, but I would be very cautious with the local mechanic. I had him work on a scooter a year ago. Not only is it still not working right, but the computer was modified [or mexicanized, as a local friend put it], after I specifically asked him not to mess with it. He charged me almost 1000$ pesos for the "repair". A week later, the bike began shocking me every time I tried to turn it off. When I told him it was not working, he did not offer to try to fix it or give me any type of refund or admit his mistake or even apologize. The Yamaha dealership in Manzanillo told me I'll have to replace the computer and the wiring harness [about 600 usd and not available in Mexico] to repair the bike. Soooo, Orlando may be a fine person, but I'm not so sure about the mechanic part. mucho precaucion!!
