First, I want to thank those that have written to me with new pledges and offers of help to purchase an ambulance. Last year I obtained pledges from quite a few people, but before we could collect them, the Presidente offered an ambulance to La Manzanilla. As most of you know, that promise was never fulfilled. Our new Mayor Pedro has since offered an ambulance but after meeting with him today and after a call to La Huerta, it doesn't look like we'll be getting a vehicle from there anytime soon. However, Pedro did get a pledge of 15,000 pesos to put toward the purchase. I have 23,000 pesos still in a Caja Solidaria acct. and 5,000 more in very recent pledges. That's 43,000 pesos toward the 100,000 that will be needed. My thanks to all who are planning to contribute by starting various fund raisers and to all who have been supportive. If you are someone that pledged last year, please do so again, and if anyone would like to contribute to this worthwhile project, just give me a call, your help is needed and will be very much appreciated.
