The sad fact behind this tragic event is that perhaps even an ambulance would not have saved his life. Without onsite expert medical attention, his chances of surviving a long ambulance trip to a hospital would have been slim. Not withstanding the need for an ambulance, there may be a dire need for people with adequate paramedic training and suitable equipment to deal with emergencies. Perhaps any available funding should examine the best possible ways to spend it. Maybe trying to keep old ambulances on the road is not the right route.

Just a thought.
