Tim I agree with you. You posted a topic. I think that evelyn and Jean failed to address the issue, but, instead fixated on their own situation. It may be somewhat of a gender "thing" or a function of a person's life experiences but, I certainly don't feel any need or desire to have someone accompany me when I drive. (I used to own a trucking company.) Similarly, if someone "unknown" were to offer to move into my house and pay for having the laundry done on their usage of my bedsheets and the electricity they consumed--well, like me, I don't think too many people would be interested. However, perhaps the "sharing of gas expenses" is a euphemism. Perhaps the voluntary participation in a "communal" transportation infrastructure is really the underlying principal. Jim |
