We have been using these electronic pest repellers... They have worked for the bats, and I have a friend back in Canada who uses them to repel rats in his warehouse in Canada... He says they work. They plug into a regular receptacle. Available in a 4-pack from Costco in Puerto Vallarta for 200 pesos.
