In case you haven't heard there has been 5 human deaths blamed on a pack of feral dogs running in a park in Mexico City.

Just read this morning that finally Mexico City's Mayor is becoming active in helping solve the terrible problem of overpopulation by setting up a public spay and neuter program.

"Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera said his government would launch a new program to spay and neuter dogs in order to reduce the number of animals in the street, sending 25 mobile surgical units to neighborhoods where residents would be encouraged to take advantage of free sterilization for their pets."

Isn't it great that Cisco's Amigos has been doing this for the past 8 years in Melaque and 10 in La Manzanilla. With having done 3500 sterilizations we have prevented the unwanted birth of over 4,000,000 dog and cats. I know that figure is hard to believe, but for every pregnant cat in 5 years there could be 20,000 kittens born, for every pregnant dog there could be 5,000 puppies born. So, 4 million is a conservative figure.
At the present time Ciscos'a Amigos is also paying for the treatment for 3 dogs which have Transmissible Venereal Tumors and the amputation of one dog's leg.
We have 2 benefits coming up real soon. One is Cisco's Amigos Music Night in La Manzanilla on January 21st and the other will be a Bingo/Silent Auction in Barra, the date to be announced.
Please help us continue our free service to over 400 animals/year. Our cost is between $180 and $200pesos /animal. If you would like to donate or help at one of the clinics you can e-mail me @ or call (315) 351-5164. We also have a US vonage # of (530) 387 -3630
Thank you for your continued support.
