We hiked up yesterday, and you don't need any equimpent. Wear sandals that can go in the water, because you need to wade in it now and then. You need to pick your way over some boulders, but I could do it (albeit slowly) after having a broken leg 6 months ago. Go near noon, then there's no worries about bugs. A walking stick might be a good idea, and the Mexicans all say to take machete, for the snakes. We saw 2 snakes, but they weren't threatening. One was a large black one, I'm assuming it was a boa, and the other was more multi-coloured one, although we didn't see it for long as it slithered away quickly. Nobody there, very peaceful, although maybe I'll change that by posting this! Lots of water: here's a photo from yesterday: |
