Where to start.

The 'person' came to my door yesterday with three children and a woman in tow. I had helped him in the past. This time I decided to notify the police and community of his presence. After failed attempts at calling the police I was
able to summon them with help from Vidal at Proteccion Civil.

The police came very quickly and luckily I had asked the person, I don't know his name, to wait. The police listened to us both and to my account about the message board warning and showing pictures of him and that I believed the former town Delegado had received complaints about his deviant behavior.

The person of course denied any wrong doing or of exposing himself. The police had taken away his machete and it lay there on the ground.

After listening to both sides, the policeman in charge calmly asked him to leave the area and not return. He was now warned that if he returned he would be arrested as a report existed against him. The person seemed grateful and thanked the policeman for the warning. I think he was relieved.

The policeman said he would confiscate his weapon, the machete. I left and don't know if the man talked them into letting him keep it as he claimed it was his livelihood.

I felt sorry for the children and some for the woman. Most people needing help and looking for work do not drag or try to hide behind their supposed children. I kept thinking of the women that had reported assaults and that I was doing the right thing. My heart was heavy for all of the need I could see in the situation although he looks pretty well fed. For me it wasn't cut and dry and I hope I didn't cause undue harm. I'm not the vigilante type. Cruz
