Okay, we haven't had a fish report for awile . First, I have to give notice to two young ladies from the states who had a spectacular day of fishing yesterday . One, Trinia did the heavy work after hooking a Blue Marlin and after an hour and a half hauled in a 100 kilo whopper, and because of that we're eating fresh marlin tonight . Notably she refused to hand off the rod at the end, and somehow got the grit to bring it to the boat and success .Arguably , nearly as astounding, her girlfriend Joline caught the first fish of her life , which turned out to be a fist- fightin Dorado . Good onya girls .
The surf fishing on the beach in front has been terrific also. Trmendous numbers of large to small sardines crowd the surfline, falling prey to birds and tackle bustin Toros, or Hurels as they are also known. On givin days, more than a dozen 20 pounders are taken along with many more smaller fish .I have never seen over the years so many variety of sea birds here at the same time ., some hard to identify.
i was out Sat. and heard over the ship to shore radio many yellowfin tuna being caught out 30 miles , with one boat calling out 5 rods going off at the same time . Dorado of mixed sizes are 1-2 miles offshore according to Javier at the fish co-op . The bite is on.
