| IMHO the best medicine needs to be brought down from the US and/or Canada. In Canada it is a prescription for the animals, but not so in the US. The name of the product is Bayer Advantage Multi 55. I protects against fleas, whipworm, hookworm, roundworm, heartworm, ear mites, the scabies causing mites and mites causing mange. I've been using this on Azul (dog always running through grasses, etc) and Salvador (cat - lies wherever he wants) for the last 4 years and honest, as God is my witness, I have only found 2 ticks on Azul so far this season and none on the cat. It goes on the top of the shoulder blade just as the other topical agents do, once a month, no worries. I got a bit crazy trying to find the best preventative because Azul has Erlichia, the disease Jo Anna was talking about, and we have to test her every year. I don't want her to get a double dose of anything! |
