Environmental Threat

Yesterday morning 9 tour buses arrived at Playa Boca de Iguanas and more than 300 students disembarked for a 2 day event on the beach front. There is a hastily built septic system that building officials from La Huerta shut down last week and the "owners" were instructed that in order to resume construction they must first obtain a permit from their office. Knowing that it was impossible to get permission for sewerage in the location they have chosen which is on federal zone land and much to close to the mangrove they chose to ignore the cease and desist, to forgo official inspection and finish the project. The beach front lot has become a major motor vehicle thoroughfare and consequently a parking lot not just during a major event like the one now but on a daily basis. The electricity is going to the lot via a wire strung over the mangrove and there is an additional pipe laying on the surface. The list of violations goes on and on.
This is an environmental concern of EPIC PROPORTIONS and we, on this end of the beach, have and continue to do everything in our powers to stop this before it is way too late. Perhaps there is someone who can complain to the authorities or summon an in- depth reporter from Guadalajara who will take up this worthy cause. If anyone cares what becomes of our planet this is a place to start. If you are already proactive..this is a place to help and if you care about furure generations living in this tropical paradise that we all enjoy and love so much THIS KIND OF ABUSE MUST BE STOPPED...tomorrow is one more day of destruction.
