Fiesta La Manzanilla begins tonight with the Farola to promote tomorrow's Ejido Day. Activities usually begin around 8 pm but nothing is carved in stone. If you hear the sounds of the banda, you might want to make your way to the square. A timeline to get you started looks like this: • ±8pm tonight, Ejido sponsored Farola • 6am Wed Feb 6, Banda revs up again and leads a ponche truck and Ejiditarians around to various homes in town to honour members of the Ejido. • 2pm Wed Feb 6, Casino, Ejido sponsored birria luncheon • 4pm rodeo grounds, Banda leads everyone there to watch the horses, bulls, dancing to the Banda and other activities until sunset. • ±8 pm, Jardin, Wed Feb 6, ex-pat sponsored Farola for the next day's Gringo Day • ±10 pm, big show band dance - not sponsored, ticketed in the Casino • 2pm, Thurs Feb 7 Casino, Gringo Day birria luncheon • 4pm, Banda leads the crowd to the rodeo grounds for horses, bulls, dancing, etc until sunset... and so on and so on...through Friday and Saturday, with a 4 pm 'rodeo only' on Sunday. |
