Police Update

Seems after many meetings in the last several months that our police department is coming around. Thanks to Pedro and his efforts with the President in LaHuerta, we have on sight, police, both day and night duty. Last year we collected 30,000 pesos. A match fund was to be given to us by LaHuerta. However, the elections came and went and their promise with it. Moving to the present, it was discussed what was actually needed...and LaHuerta provided it, more police, several motorcycles...and night protection...and we did not spend our 30,000. Thanks to the Men's Breakfast Club and other donors, the accommodations for these men has become livable. We are now going forward to build an inside kitchen and bathroom area so their basic needs will be taken care of, rather than have them use the public bathroom area adjacent to their quarters. Also ceiling fans and an extra window will be installed. This will all begin to take shape after Toros. Many thanks to all those that donated so long ago, Stephanie
