Moon and Jupiter

Tonight the moon and Jupiter will be pretty close to each other, high in the sky as it gets dark. I thought we were going to see the moon pass in front of Jupiter on Monday, but that is going to be visible from Australia and the Indian Ocean. Tomorrow night Jupiter will be on the other side of the moon. You might be able to see Jupiter during the day tomorrow, near the moon after about 4:00 in the afternoon. Binoculars or a paper towel center cardboard might help. I think the actual occultation occurs around 1:00pm, before the moon is above the horizon. |
