These guys are great! Unlike their machine gun toting cousins in other towns, they seem like old-fashioned police, mingling in the community. One gets the sense that they are here to "serve and protect".

A while ago they stopped their truck outside my home and, after introducing themselves, explained that they were patrolling the neighbourhood. A few days ago I witnessed them on their motorbikes, quietly escorting a dune buggy, who had been terrorizing the beach at Boca, off the beach.

I agree. Stop and talk to them. Encourage their good work and make them feel that they are a positive and valuable part of the community.
