Ah, Judy, your care of him touches me so. I've lived just above him for several months and have watched this poor fellow languish--little joy in his life. Often, he'd not even lift his head as I passed and spoke words of encouragement to him--sometimes a tail-wag, but usually just that look of separation. I am glad his travail is done and glad he had loving people nearby. Each dog death, of course, reminds me of my beautiful Jade, and the other two dogs I helped bury during that six weeks. It reminds me of the temporary nature of things, especially here, and it still makes me weep. One day, when I figure it out, I'll post a pic of my Lady Jadie to add to the thread you started Judy. I love looking at all your dogs and thinking of the joy they bring into your lives . . . and then I have my 'Lady and Tramp' -- Sunta and BonBon -- who visit me several times a day and the four cats who belong to the house I rent and whom I feed - just a little - each day. I know these mascotas are only on loan to me and that when I return to Victoria, I'll face the ugly emptiness of my Jade-less house -- and no, I'll be taking another dog home with me. Meanwhile, thank you Sunta and BonBon, Leslie, Poncho, Guera, and Richard Parker. You enrich my life daily. :o) |
