When in Mexico, I/we assiduously wash my/our produce in order to kill off the nasties which threaten to kill off us.
My question is about what we do, back in Canada or the US, with those Mexican-grown veggies and fruits when we bring them home from the super market. Does something mysterious happen to that produce when it crosses the border to make it safer for consumption, or are we
1. purifying our produce unnecessarily when we're in Mexico . . . or
2. being negligent, on our returns 'home' in not taking those precautions?
Your thoughts . . . ?
