Just completed my immigration form and requested permanenet status. My thinking is that I believe the new law states that you can get this status if you have 4 or 5 continuous years on an FM-3 or 2 visa, combined. The key should be that you are in a continuous visa status, whether it crosses 2 types of visa, should be irrelevant. I know a year ago immigration in Manzanillo did not accept this situation. I am hoping that they have changed their stance after about a year of implementing the new laws. Anyone with recent experience requesting permanenet status with a similar situation, please repond? Also, a great site to checkout for information is mymexicanlawyer.com. Gracias! |
